Starting out as a teacher giving music lessons requires a number of decisions. Will the teaching be for a particular genre
, is there a target age group, will the teacher be self employed or work as part of an organization? This is a wide field for teaching ranging from the unqualified learner starting out to the professional providing mentoring in addition to performing.

A music teacher can work as a self employed individual or can seek employee as part of a school or college. Within a school, music will be part of a syllabus. A college may be specifically orientated to providing musical training. A self employed teacher will need advertise for pupils and be the administrator of their business as well as providing tuition.

Employment as part of a school means all pupils will be children. For teachers who prefer to work with adults, a college or a self employed career will allow them to choose their pupils. A self employed teacher may choose to teach adults and children but learning styles will differ and the content of the lessons should be adjusted to meet the requirements of the learner.

The tutor might be proficient in many instruments or an expert in one. The provision of music lessons might include theory and exams. It might even extend to training on performance techniques or recording methods used in a studio. Colleges provide classes that extend beyond the technique of playing an instrument and passing exams.

An individual working for themselves needs to decide how to provide the lessons. Tuition can be provided in a rehearsal room where there is soundproofing and often some equipment. Alternatively to reduce their costs the tutor may wish to travel directly to the learners house or have the learner come to the tutors home to avoid the costs of a room that is only used part time.

A teacher in a school or college will be given a class to teach and may also have one to one tuition sessions to work with gifted pupils. An individual working as a lone teacher, can choose the format of their classes. Working one to one with a learner can allow the teacher to focus on their strengths and weakness
, but working as part of a small group can be beneficial to allow the learners to learn how to work together.

The tutor may have different musical tastes to their pupils. If they work as part of a school or college, then there will be a syllabus which has certain requirements. A self employed teacher may prefer to teach certain styles or lack confidence in genres they are unfamiliar with. A good teacher will aim to encourage their pupils to explore different types of music in their learning experience.

The teacher providing music lessons has wide range of decisions to make before starting up their practice. But once they have established what they will provide and how they do this, they have a satisfying and stimulating career ahead of them.

Employee motivation as it relates to employees satisfaction is vitally important. And, it goes way beyond just a "happier workforce." Why?

Because there is an undeniable link between satisfied, motivated employees, and satisfied customers. In other words
, focus on creating satisfied employees, focus on employee motivation, and those motivated, satisfied employees will take care of your customers.

2. Employee Motivation Through Genuine Appreciation

At times, managers unknowingly sabotage employee motivation by failing to recognize the positive behaviors and achievements of their employees. As a result
